As soon as the news of carnage by a Christian terrorist Anders Behring Breivik spread, the western media turned its focus on Islamic terrorists and Al-Qaeda.
But as soon as the details emerged about the nationality and religious background of the perpetrator, it became clear that this incident can not be linked with Islam in any way.
But there are some extremist elements in the media that use Islam in Europe as one reason why the terrorist carried out the attacks.
There are references of Al-Qaeda and Islam in some news aricles covering the aftermath of the event.
For example, a self-proclaimed anti-terrorism expert called Anders's declaration document as a copy of Al-Qaeda's strategy.
Some call Muslims in Norway and their wrong deeds as a reason for his hatred, thus implying that Islam is indirectly responsible for this carnage.
Some websites that are thought to have been run by Al-Qaeda even claimed responsibility of the attack. This raises the question that are these websites really run by the people who carry out terrorist attackes or are these fake websites run by people who are out there to put blame of every terrorist attack on Muslims?
