There are strong indications of discontent among army leadership about how General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani is handling the situation after

the Abborrabad incident.

Corpse commanders believe Kiyani should get tougher with Americans while Kiyani seems to be very submissive.

This situation can lead to a coup in Pakistan where some low level officers may exploit the situation and attempt to take control of the army.

This kind of coup will be very dangerous for Pakistan as it will divide the army and can lead to a civil war.

Looking at the history of coup attempts in Pakistan, when a coup occurs against any Government then the army unites as no one in army supports civilians.

But if a coup occurs against a serving General, there is bound to be a confusion among army officers and there will be divisions among them about who to support.

This will lead to a civil war like situation.
